Hors'n Around

These Horses and These Horse

Memories Are Very Special To Us

I keep showing this picture to Pepper and asking him why he can't do this?  I need the help!

Pride of 'Cochise', Taylor's horse, came to us when he was 6 months old.  He will be thirteen this May.  Some times he thinks he is an overgrown lap dog.

This is my 'retirement' project.  Chics 'Dandy' Jet was born out of my mare Chics Jet Deck, in our barn, 2 months before I left the IAFF.  So he will be eight next June.

Most of you know Beau.   Savannah started riding at two years of age on Dunnit, a full size horse.  After a spill we got her the pony Beau.

Savannah graduated some time ago from Beau and rode Dandy's mother Chic until she died.  Now she and Dandy are a pair.

Thanks to Dwayne and Amy, Savannah and I got to ride horses to the top of a volcano in Maui.

Anja, Dwayne and Amy's au pair rode with us.

Anja was able to live in Colorado for a few months and we became friends and she became a mentor to Dandy.

Anja has now returned to Germany and her own horse.

Dandy, Cochise and I are really blessed that we found two more au pairs that had riding experience in their home Countries.

Lisa is from Germany and has done wonders with Cochise.  They are truly best friends.

Linda is from Denmark and she and Dandy have found a real connection.  Both girls ride twice a week and the horses love it.  So do I.  Thanks!

This is called a 'snow' blanket.  The horse's hair layers so insulate the horse that their body heat does not reach the surface.  Therefore, when snow gets on their back it doesn't melt right away.

One of four 'miniature' horses my cousin Joel and Christina recently purchased.  Getting reading for their granddaughter Clara to ride.

Another recent purchase by Christina.  These horses are shorter than most, but very sturdy and great riding horses.  When I went with them to look him over his name was Diesel.  Gives you some idea of their strength.

Most of you remember and some of you have ridden Dunnit.  He was our first horse and bought for Jenny when we moved here in 1990.  Well, Dunnit was put out on pasture at Joel's about eight years ago to finish out his days.  He is reported to be doing well and fat.  He will be thirty two in April.
